Job Overview:

This position is responsible for providing primary support for the Virtual / Physical Network. Responsibilities will also include IT support related to all servers which include, but are not limited to, service patches, upgrades, support, backups and restores as well as creating and maintaining documentation of network systems, structure, and standard procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible as the point of contact for gateway communications between PFP and its tier systems support vendors. 
  • On-site administrator for business systems software, business applications, hardware, configurations, servers, system backups, telecommunications, phone system configuration and programming with the focus on: 
  • General administration and maintenance. 
  • System reliability and uptime. 
  • Network Performance (either directly or with coordination of 3rd party vendors). 
  • Maintain an accurate Inventory and Documentation on all Servers, Network Equipment, Network Structure, Backup Systems, and other core business equipment and applications.
  • Project Lead for all system/hardware upgrades, new installations, re-configurations, network security measures and major maintenance
  • Act as IT representative on the Info-Sec Committee. 
  •  Maintain Antivirus, and all endpoint security. 
  • Maintain Network and communications security including email and corporate cell phones coordination and use of 3rd party specialty software systems.
  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team. 
  • Build and maintain security consciousness standards throughout the company. o Monitoring all workstations, hardware, access points, for threats on the PFP network
  • Provide user administration for user accounts, server accounts, administrative accounts, for network, phone, backup, screen recording, document management, wireless.
  •  Provide Level-2 Help Desk support and troubleshooting for help desk and end users.
  •  Provide general Internet support for client software and basic network support & troubleshooting. 
  •  Keep up to date on latest software developments, security standards & risks to maintain corporate software standards. 
  • Act as backup to system support. 
  • This also incudes, answering helpdesk calls (as backup to the rest of the Help Desk), responding/updating tickets, retrieving IT Voice Mail, provide trouble shooting assistance and resolution. 
  • Fulfillment and purchasing support for hardware PCs, PC equipment and peripherals.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and document computer systems, software and peripheral equipment located throughout the organization. 
  • Work with end users to resolve general software problems. 
  • Maintain and exhibit a high level of ethical compliance, as well as demonstration of PFP Core Values: Caring, Integrity, Resilience, Drive, and Passion

  Education, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience and accomplishment in a systems administrator or Jr systems position, with a degree in Information Technology concentration. 
  • Minimum of 6 years’ proven experience and accomplishment in a systems administrator or Jr systems position, with an associate degree 
  • Help desk and/or technical support experience.
  • Knowledge of Virtual Servers and VM Ware management software 
  • Knowledge of the Windows family of products, Win10/11, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). 
  • Knowledge / Administration of firewall and network traffic management 
  • Knowledge / Administration of Microsoft O365 Products 
  • Excellent hardware and software troubleshooting skills. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Cisco phone administration a plus 
  • Insurance industry experience or licensing a plus


 
What does the schedule look like?
 Monday – Friday, 8:30 – 4:30 with the expectation to work off hours when necessary to accomplish systems work or critical system down situations.
